Grasshopper Pie

Oh so good, I can't even begin to tell you how good this tastes.  We had a dessert very similar to this at a friends house and so I had to come home and make it myself.  I made it for company on Sunday and everyone loved it.  This is super simple and presents well.  I kind of made up my own  recipe, so here it goes:
Ingredients

1 container (half gallon?) of mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 container of cool whip (thawed)
1 package of Oreos
caramel sauce
chocolate sauce
1/4 cup butter

1. Crush about 24 Oreos or use food processor.  Melt butter and mix with Oreo crumbs.  Press into bottom of spring form pan.  (Or any kind of Pyrex dish)

2. Leave ice cream out to soften, then press it on top of the Oreo crust.  Spread evenly.

3.  Drizzle some caramel and chocolate sauce on top of ice cream.

4.  Spread cool whip on top of the sauces and spread evenly.  Then break up some Oreos and sprinkle on top.

5.  Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and put in freezer until ready to eat.  (It is probably best to leave it over night so it can set up)

I love how you can do this way in advance and there is no cooking involved and not very much cleanup.  You can change the amounts to whatever you prefer.  I wasn't going to use a whole container of cool whip but as I was spreading it around I realized there wasn't much left so I just put it all on since I didn't want the container in my freezer.

P.S. Kayli- this desserts for you!  I know how you love mint and chocolate!

How cool to have a post with a personal recommendation! Yes, it does INDEED sound delicious---icecream, mint, chocolate cookies, chocolate sauce. I'm hungry! I'll have to pick up some oreos at the grocery store soon...I already have the mint icecream. :)
Sometimes if we pass mint oreos going down that aisle for some reason, Jethro will point to them and say, "There's your favorite Mom--we should get them." Hard to argue with that.
