Breadsticks

I got this recipe from my sister. I loved it because they are so fast and you don't have to let them rise for hours or anything. They are super delicious and you could really add any flavor you want to them.

Ingredients

1 T yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 T sugar
1/2 t. salt
3 c. flour
1/2 c. butter/margarine

1. Dissolve yeast in 1 and 1/2 c. warm water (about 5 minutes).

2. Mix all ingredients together, slowly adding flour last; knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise 10 minutes.

3. Melt 1 stick butter and pour into 2 jelly roll pans (or cookie sheet).

4. Roll out dough into a rectangle, about the same size as the pan. Cut into 1 x 4 inch strips, using a pizza cutter. Roll each piece in melted butter and place in the jelly roll pans.

5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic salt (I use powder). Let rise 15-20 minutes. Bake at 350 for 18-22 minutes.

*I made these the first time and thought that they spread out too far on the cookie sheets. So I made them again and shoved them all into one 13x9 Pyrex and they were so much better. They were softer and moister. They were a little tight in the pan so maybe use one big pan and one small one to fit all of them. I just think whatever you do, make them touch each other at least a little bit.

Yum, those look good. Really good. It's almost 10, so probably a little late for bread sticks. hehe. Maybe tomorrow. :)
