Homemade Bread

My friend Kayli makes the best bread ever. It is moist and doesn't turn all crumbly the next day. She gave me a loaf once and I fell in love. She was nice enough to share the recipe. I don't have any kind of mixer so I kneaded mine by hand. It didn't come out as good as Kayli's but it was still really good bread. I also added some gluten to mine.
Ingredients

2 cups milk
2/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp. salt
3 cups very hot water
10 cups flour
2 tbsp. yeast
3-4 cups flour

Microwave milk for 2 1/2 minutes. Add oil and dump in bowl or mixer. Add eggs, sugar, salt, and water and mix. Then add 10 cups flour and yeast. Mix. Gradually add more flour until it is sticky but not too sticky. Pulls away from bowl but not stiff. Mix or knead for 10 minutes.

Grease a bowl and put it in to rise 1-2 hours until double. Punch down and make loaves. Makes about 5 loaves and a baby one. Grease loaf pans and put dough in to rise. Cover with towel and let rise for maybe an hour.

Bake at 350 until they sound hollow. I can't remember how long mine cooked. Maybe 45 minutes. Just check often.
I halved the recipe since it was my first time making it. You can freeze the bread to use later.

YAY! Small world. Love Kayli. She's my cousin who lives SO far away. Have yet to eat her bread. Looks like doing it by hand turns out really nice too. Now excuse me while I head to the kitchen. You got me craving some homemade bread! ; )

Awwww-thanks. And kudos for doing it without a machine. I'm always WAAAAAAY too scared for that.
