Chocolate Chip Cookies

I think I finally found my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. So far it hasn't failed me and they always come out just perfect. I got the recipe from a cookbook from my mother-in-law called The Food Nanny.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp. backing soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. In a large bowl beat the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and eggs. Beat about 1 minute.

3. Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the butter mixture and mi until all ingredients are well-combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.

4. Drop tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets and flatten slightly with the palm of your hand. Bake 8-10 minutes. Remove to a cooling rack. These cookies freeze well; store in resealable plastic bags and take out as many at a time as needed.
