Caramel Apples

I'm sure everyone knows how to make caramel apples but I just had to post this because my son was so cute while I was trying to take a picture. He wouldn't stay out of the way.

Ingredients

5 medium apples (we only got 4 out of it but I think some caramels were eaten beforehand)
1 pkg. caramels (about 50)
2 tbsp. water
5 Popsicle sticks (should come in bag of caramels)

Wash and dry apples. Insert wooden Popsicle sticks into stem of each apple.

Cover cookie sheet or plate with wax paper; spray with PAM. Set aside.

Place caramels and water in large saucepan; cook on medium-low heat until caramels are completely melted, stirring constantly.

Dip apples into melted caramel until evenly coated, spooning caramel over apples if necessary. Allow excess caramel to drip off. Scrape bottoms of apples, then place on wax paper. Refrigerator at least 1 hour or until ready to serve. Remove from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature 15 minutes before serving. Store leftover dipped apples in refrigerator.

I decided to coat mine with come candy. I just crushed up an Oreo for one, some M&Ms for one, and a heath bar for another one. Any candy you like would be great....or some people even like nuts or sprinkles. Just roll the apple in it after you dip it.
